Digital transformation has increased healthcare organizations’ dependence on electronic medical records, connected medical devices, cloud services, email, telemedicine, mobile technologies, and other digital platforms. While these technologies improve healthcare delivery, they also introduce cybersecurity, privacy, operational, and patient-safety risks.

This five-hour workshop provides healthcare professionals with a practical introduction to Abu Dhabi Healthcare Information and Cyber Security (ADHICS) compliance and healthcare cybersecurity. Participants will examine information security responsibilities, protection of patient and organizational information, access control, cybersecurity risks, phishing and social engineering, ransomware, incident management, third-party risks, medical-device security, business continuity, and practical approaches to organizational compliance.

The program emphasizes that healthcare cybersecurity is not solely an IT responsibility. Protecting information and clinical systems requires coordinated involvement from leadership, clinical teams, quality, IT, medical records, biomedical engineering, human resources, and all users of healthcare information systems.
